Kate Middleton has faced another challenge when learning about Omid Scobie’s new project, “Royal Spin,” a fictional series centered on an American press agent working at Buckingham Palace. While the show is fictional, its alleged similarities to the story of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have raised concerns, especially for Princess Kate, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
A source close to the couple revealed to Closer Magazine that the Princess of Wales is “incredibly concerned” about possible storylines in the series, while Prince William has sought to reassure her that the public will see through any inaccuracies.
“The show’s synopsis tells the story of Meghan and Harry while hiding behind the guise of a fictional drama, and Kate is incredibly concerned about the potential plotlines.” The source said.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously used a number of platforms, including interviews, their Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Prince Harry’s memoir “Replacement,” to share their experiences, often in ways that have embarrassed the Waleses. This history increases Kate’s anxiety about the upcoming programme, which she fears could contain indirect references to her life or that of William.
“Ever since Kate and William learned that Universal had bought the show, they have been caught up in a new wave of panic and fear over the impending news and claims,” the source continued. “It is presented as fiction, but that doesn’t preclude the possibility that some stories are very risqué and suggest real fights.”
The source further explained that the couple is concerned that the series could serve as a brutal exposé, and that William is particularly worried about the impact on Kate’s health. “William is worried that Kate simply can’t take it anymore,” the source added, stressing that he has reassured her by saying: “The public will notice immediately, as always.”
