Prince William has been entrusted with new responsibilities, becoming the new ‘enforcer’ of the Royal Family, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Prince Philip. The report suggests that this new role will help the Prince of Wales manage his “rebellious” brother, Prince Harry, who continues to pose challenges to the Royal Family.
Talking with OK! MagazineRoyal expert Jennie Bond explained that William’s difficult childhood and strong-willed nature prepared him to take a tough stance on family issues, including those involving Harry and Prince Andrew.
“William has always had a strong character,” Bond said. “I think his broken childhood made him strong and determined. Now he has a reputation for being stubborn and once he makes up his mind, he sticks to it.”
She added: “Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family, and I think it’s true that he has been willing to take a firm stance on a number of issues, including those involving Andrew and Harry. I’m not so sure whether he is the ‘new enforcer’, but he is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose opinions carry considerable influence.”
Bond also noted how “discipline” within the Royal Family appeared to “collapse” following the death of Prince Philip and highlighted how William has taken on this pivotal role.
“There is a sense that William has taken on the role of Prince Philip,” the expert told the publication. “Philip ruled the family with an iron fist and when he died, you saw that discipline collapse. Now William is the one who rules when it comes to family discipline.”
As William takes on this role, his leadership and firm stance are seen as crucial to maintaining structure and discipline within the Royal Family. His ability to command respect and influence decisions underlines his growing prominence as a future king.
