Pornhub has revealed that its X-rated site saw unusual traffic during and after Thursday night’s US presidential debate.
The event, which saw President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump face off on camera, began at 9 p.m. ET, the same time viewership on Pornhub dropped -8 percent with respect to their average audience.
“You could certainly say that the debate affected the nighttime schedules of hundreds of thousands of Americans,” a company spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
While the drop lasted until the start of the debate, searches were up 12 percent above average by 11 p.m., about 15 minutes after the showdown.
The event, which saw President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump face off on camera, began at 9 p.m. Eastern Time — the same time Pornhub saw an eight percent drop in its average viewership.
Pornhub is an international site that receives 130 million visitors from around the world each day, but most of its traffic comes from American viewers.
Delaware had the biggest drop at -22 percent, which may be due to it moving closer to Washington DC, which also saw a drop to -20 percent, as did Wyoming.
However, traffic increased during the debate in some states, with the highest being Connecticut at more than 10 percent, followed by Maine at six percent and Alabama increasing two percent.
Pornhub published similar data in 2020, when Trump and Biden were facing off for the presidential seat.
That year, traffic to the adult content site fell -18.5 percent at 9 p.m. ET and during the first hour of the debate, compared to -16 percent in 2016, when the candidates first took the stage.
Thursday’s debate on Pornhub doesn’t compare to previous ones, likely because many Americans reported they had no interest in watching the two men.

CNN reported Friday that only 47.9 million people tuned in to its live broadcast, a sharp decline from 73 million years ago.
During Thursday’s debate, Pornhub began going down about an hour into the debate.
Many Americans criticized candidates who appeared to turn on each other instead of answering questions about inflation, child care and abortion.
But it seems like people flocked to Pornhub shortly after the event ended, and stayed for at least an hour afterwards.
