A judge described a man’s actions as predatory, atrocious and disgusting as he jailed him for the brutal rapes of at-risk homeless teenagers.

Jason Andrew Green, 45, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for his horrific crimes in the WA District Court on Tuesday.

Judge Linda Black said “torture” was not an inappropriate description of his atrocious sexual assaults on the girls.

Green was one of more than 20 men, including 11 suspected pedophiles, arrested in 2020 during Operation Timing Belt, which targeted online predators in Perth.

The operation unearthed a pedophile ring accused of using Facebook and Instagram to deceive 140 teenagers.

The teenagers were only 13 years old and were allegedly abused by 23 girls.

Earlier this year, Green stood trial in the District Court over allegations he attacked and preyed on young girls in 2019.

Green was charged with one count of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, two counts of encouraging a child to engage in sexual conduct, four counts of sexual penetration without consent and one count of unlawful and indecent assault.

He denied all charges but, after a lengthy trial, was found guilty of seven of the eight offences.

Green was acquitted of one charge of encouraging a child to engage in sexual conduct.

During Tuesday’s sentencing it was revealed how Green sexually and indecently assaulted two 16-year-old girls.

Green groomed both girls and gave them methylamphetamine before raping them at his home in separate incidents.

In a cruel ordeal, the court heard how one of the girls screamed in pain and could not breathe as she was strangled.

The court heard one of the victims had an intellectual disability and both were homeless or came from troubled backgrounds.

Green’s actions were selective and persistent, State Attorney Kade Rosenthal told the court.

‘The offender did not care whether the girls gave their consent or not.

“She felt entitled to take whatever she wanted from these vulnerable girls.”

The court was told a third girl, aged 15 at the time, rejected Green after he tried to entice her into sex in exchange for drugs or a phone.

Sentencing Green, Judge Black said she was satisfied that Green had expressed no remorse for his crimes.

“I have no evidence that you appreciate the incredible harm you have caused these girls,” he said.

‘You had no right to do what you did. I hope you’re ashamed of yourself.

“It is difficult to imagine more serious examples of this type of crime.”

Judge Black said there could have been even more victims if it were not for the bravery of a girl who reported Green’s actions.

Green has previous convictions for dishonesty, drugs and aggravated armed robbery and was eligible for parole.

His sentence was retroactive to January 10, 2024.
