Conflicting images have emerged of a man attacking a bus with an ax after he was ordered to get off.
The shocking incident occurred on a Transperth bus traveling between Fremantle and Murdoch in Perth on Thursday.
It is understood the man boarded the bus at Morley train station and began arguing with a woman he appeared to know.
Another passenger intervened and asked the man to get off, which angered him.
He then pulled out an ax and threatened other passengers, and was ordered to leave the bus.

The man was then filmed running back to the bus before hitting the side of the vehicle with the ax several times.
Petrified passengers were heard saying “Oh my God” while one shouted at the man to stop.
He then allegedly lay down in the middle of the street, in front of the bus.
One passenger recalled feeling “very scared” when the situation unfolded, Nine News reported.
CCTV footage from a nearby house showed the man eventually running into a park and disappearing into bushes.
WA Police have launched an investigation into the incident and urged witnesses to come forward.
No charges have been filed.
After being ejected from the bus, the man attacked the vehicle with an axe.
