This comes as fans praise her. The ‘mind-blowing’ second single, Tears, was released last week, when she revealed that her two-year-old son Axel features on her upcoming debut album.
Perrie showcased her vocals on Tears, the follow-up to April’s Don’t Forget About Us.
Her debut solo single was number one for two weeks on the Big Top 40 chart and peaked inside the top 10 of the Official Charts.
Perrie performed Whitney Houston’s Don’t Forget About Us, Tears and I Wanna Dance With Somebody in a dazzling gold gown at the Capital Summertime Ball on Sunday.
Speaking on Heart FM last week, Perrie shared that fans will be able to hear from Axel when the as-yet-unnamed album is released because he “loves” to sing and she “can’t get rid of him” when she’s in her home studio.
Perrie added: ‘But he’s only two… three in August. He comes in and says, ‘I’m going to sing a song’. And you just stand there and I’m like, ‘Oh my God’.
‘All the producers and writers and everyone in the room has to just stand there and listen to ‘Let it go’ over and over again, the same lyrics a few times… and it just keeps going… He thrives when people give him attention.’
Where Don’t Forget About Us was a country-influenced Ed Sheeran pop ballad, Tears is smooth soul with an ’80s vibe.

In the song, Perrie laments the tears she wasted on an ex, and although he says he knows he’ll never get them back, he swears he’ll never see her cry again.
Describing the inspiration for the song, he said: ‘This song is about getting out of a bad situation and letting go of what happened in the past.
“It’s that moment where you feel empowered and leave the tears behind because you’ve moved on. It’s a soft, sensual song that I’m so excited for all of you to hear.”
Speaking on Capital Breakfast last week, Perrie opened up about the difficulties of following up a strong debut.
She admitted: ‘There is a little bit of pressure. I think there is a little bit of pressure because it’s so different. But I warned everyone. I brought a disclaimer to the table.
“When I promoted Forget About Us, I thought my second and third singles were very different from the first. I think now you know what I mean, because Tears is completely different sonically.”
