The British actor, 51, was photographed aboard a boat dressed in period costumes outside the Tap and Spile pub on Monday night.
Stephen could be seen at the back of the large barge, holding the stern as he steered it through the murky waters.
Making sure to emulate the dark, dingy colors of the Peaky Blinders brand, the actor wore a brown trench coat that had large buttons down the front.
He wore it over a dark white shirt and black pants as he looked thoughtfully over his shoulder while filming the dramatic scenes.

Student and Peaky Blinders fan Hayley Morris, 19, revealed: “The film crews have tried to keep it all a secret but we all knew it was for Peaky Blinders.
“I’m really excited about the film and I hope we get to see Cillian. It’s great that they’re filming a lot in Birmingham as that’s where it’s all set.”
He added: “It can only be a good thing for the city.” Peaky Blinders already brings us a lot of tourists but now we have Hollywood stars here, it’s incredible.’
Last month it was announced that Saltburn star Barry had joined the cast, but The details of his character have not yet been revealed.

The BBC series of Peaky Blinders aired from 2013 to 2022 and followed the rise of the Shelby family after the First World War.
The film, called The Immortal Man, is now expected to restore the family’s fortune a few years after entering the years of World War II.
