A couple who sexually abused a child causing him “immeasurable pain and suffering” have been sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison.
Scott Geraghty, 31, and Chloe Dixon, 26, both from Merseyside, were sentenced yesterday for their heinous crimes dating back to 2020.
Geraghty was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison after being found guilty of 12 offences, including engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child; and inciting a girl between the ages of 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activities.
Dixon was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison after being found guilty of 10 offences, including possession of indecent images of a child; engaging in sexual activities in the presence of a child; and engaging in sexual communication with a child.
Their crimes were discovered after the victim bravely came forward to report the couple to the police.
Chloe Dixon, 26, from Merseyside, was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison after being found guilty of 10 offences.
Scott Geraghty, 31, from Merseyside, was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison after being found guilty of 12 offences.
Both were also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and were issued a Restraining Order to further protect their victim.
Police said Geraghty and Dixon’s crimes “caused immeasurable pain and suffering to their victim and her family.”
After the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Rebecca Igglesden said: “I would like to praise the victim’s strength, patience and bravery throughout this long and complex investigation.”
“While no outcome can eliminate the harm caused, we hope that knowing they have been incarcerated will at least provide some comfort and aid their recovery process.”
