England’s “strongest man” has demonstrated his supreme strength by rolling up a cast iron frying pan in just seconds.

Patrick ‘Paddy’ Haynes, 26, from Oxfordshire, won the Ultimate Strongman title at the England’s Strongest Man competition in Warrington, Cheshire, last September.

Paddy, who describes himself as “just a young lad from Banbury with a crazy dream”, documents his weightlifting progress on his Instagram account @paddystrongman, where he completes “speedy deadlifts” of 340kg.

The fitness fanatic appeared on BBC Radio Oxford on Monday, where he showed off how powerful his muscles can be by rolling a frying pan “like a taco”.

First, host Adam Ball checked whether the frying pan was legitimate by banging it on the table and concluded: “That’s the sound of cast iron.”

Paddy was confident in his ability to conquer the frying pan from the start, saying: “When I’m done, it’ll look like a taco.”

After a countdown, Paddy began working on the pan, folding it completely in half in seconds, before rolling it up like a newspaper.

Looking at the victorious Paddy, Adam was amazed by the feat and exclaimed: “It’s done!” We already have a rolled pan that took less than five seconds. Wow!’

Paddy won the Ultimate Strongman title in front of around 3,000 people in Warrington last September, beating Andrew Flynn and Paul Smith, the favorite and four-time champion.

The competition sees entrants compete in five events, including a 186kg shield carry, in which Haynes set a new UK record.

It also consists of a 400kg yoke walk and a 320kg deadlift rep.
