Packers’ Jordan Love suffers apparent lower leg injury vs. Eagles Originally appeared in NBC Sports Philadelphia
Jordan Love suffered an apparent lower leg injury Friday night in Brazil.
On the penultimate play of the game, the Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback attempted to throw a pass but ultimately had to turn around and throw the ball back to Josh Jacobs.
Love then watched as his left leg became trapped in a tackle made by Philadelphia Eagles Defensive lineman Jalen Carter-Love fell to the ground in pain and had to be taken to the sideline, where he continued to receive treatment.
After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur said he didn’t know of any new developments regarding the 25-year-old quarterback.
Newly acquired backup Malik Willis came in for Green Bay on the final play, but was sacked as time expired and Green Bay fell 34-29.
Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract extension with Green Bay during the offseason that tied him for the highest-paid quarterback in league history.
Love, the 26th overall pick in the 2020 draft, helped the Packers to a No. 7 seed in the NFC last season in his first full campaign as a starter, showing plenty of promise for the future.
Green Bay had been anticipated to finish even better this season after defeating No. 2 Dallas Cowboys in the first round of last season’s postseason and taking the No. 1 spot San Francisco 49ers until the final seconds in an eventual defeat.
This is a developing story…
