Transgender activists staged a scandalous takeover of the US Capitol women’s bathrooms to protest Republican Congress’s ban on trans bathrooms.
Protesters have flocked to Washington, D.C. as the Supreme Court hears a case over the constitutionality of a Tennessee law that denies transgender minors gender-affirming care.
Republicans have been emboldened by Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, with South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace introducing a bill to ban transgender women from using female restrooms in the Capitol.
Last month, House Speaker Mike Johnson ruled that the first transgender member of Congress cannot use women’s bathrooms in a decision that will shake the US Capitol.
Newly elected Sarah McBride, who will become the first openly transgender lawmaker when she takes office in January, will have to use the men’s facilities.
As the Supreme Court heard the most high-profile case of its term on Wednesday, transgender activists decided to record a dance number in the women’s bathroom of the Capitol building.
The group of protesters, including trans actress James Rose, danced to Meeting in the Ladies Room by Klymaxx.
The video of the demonstration begins with a pan inside the entrance to the Capitol building, then pans to the nearby bathroom that is filled with a dancing group of trans, non-binary and cisgender people.

Some wore T-shirts in the colors of the transgender pride flag (pink, blue and white) that said “Eliminate hate, not our rights” and “Trans people are NOT dangerous.” Are you!’
The other activists include non-binary influencer Jerome Trammel, comedian Elizabeth Booker Houston, influencer Alexis Rose, transgender model June Raven Romero, and activist Hope Giselle-Godsey.
‘We understand the weight of what it means to be an outcast in our society, so doing what is necessary is never too difficult. “It always starts with things that people consider insignificant, like public bathrooms, but it never ends there,” Giselle-Godsey said. Gaye Magazine.
“We are here today to make sure you understand that we will not be erased (one bathroom at a time) or thrown back into the proverbial closet in deference to the comfort of those who speak to eradicate us.”
The accused’s followers left comments applauding the video and encouraging the group’s antics.
“Now I’ll be disappointed every time I walk into a public bathroom and don’t see dancing,” one person said.
“I’d rather go to the bathroom than meet a man alone on the street any day,” said a second.
Another added: “No MAGA was harmed during the use of the urinal or the filming of this video.”

Mace’s bathroom proposal caused a trans war to break out on Capitol Hill, with Delaware Democratic Rep.-elect McBride criticizing Republicans, claiming they were using it as a “distraction” tactic.
Mace launched into a brutal response when asked why he doesn’t want the first trans member of Congress to use women’s bathrooms.
“If being a feminist makes me an extremist, I’m all for it,” the South Carolina Republican snapped to a reporter.
“I am also a victim of abuse. I am a rape survivor. I have PTSD from the abuse I suffered at the hands of a man and I know how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces.
“So I’m absolutely, 100 percent going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women’s bathroom, in our locker rooms or in our locker rooms.”
Johnson, the Republican leader, finally weighed in on the controversy in a statement saying that McBride would have to use the bathroom of her biological sex.
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House office buildings, such as bathrooms, locker rooms, and locker rooms, are reserved for people of that biological sex,” Johnson said in his statement.
“It is important to note that each member office has its own private bathroom and unisex bathrooms are available throughout the Capitol,” he continued. ‘Women deserve women-only spaces.’
