A North Dakota target is facing backlash for firing a woman who wrote “Trust in Jesus” on her name tag.

Denise Kendrick, an employee at the Fargo store, said she was fired on Nov. 16 over a dress code issue.

She put “Trust Jesus” and a drawing of a cross on her name tag for that service, but was approached by a manager who told her she didn’t think she could wear it. KVLY.

‘I replied, ‘Well, I’ve seen people with rainbows on theirs. I’m going to keep wearing this name tag,’ and then they said, ‘Well, you can’t work here anymore,'” Kendrick said. .

She said she asked for a reason why she was being fired, but was only given a list of information about the dress code policy.

“I said, ‘Can I get it in writing as to why you’re firing me?’ and they refused to do that,” Kendrick said

“They gave me a piece of paper with all these phone numbers on it and said, ‘If you have any questions about violating the dress code, just call one of these numbers.’ And he kept repeating it, and we kept going back and forth, and it didn’t go anywhere.”

Kendrick said she was wearing a plain red long-sleeved sweatshirt and jeans when she was in the foreground. She said she had been wearing other religious clothing for months and never had a problem.

“I had no problem with anyone approaching me with my Christian shirts,” Kendrick said.

According to Target’s policy, “Target is an equal opportunity employer that prohibits discrimination and makes decisions about employment opportunities, including hiring, advancement and promotion, without regard to the following characteristics: race, color, national origin, religious beliefs.” ‘

Outraged social media users called Kendrick’s firing discrimination, saying it was hypocritical to allow some people to write on their name tags but not her.

“I don’t shop at Target! I hope that lady sues Target for wrongful termination! I’m so tired of the intolerant left! They are all so miserable,” said one Reddit user.

‘I’m done with Target, it’s too expensive and the quality isn’t any better. I’m tired of their leftist policies. If they allow people to post rainbows and pronouns they have no reason not to let her do that,” said another.

‘How about a simple ‘you only wear the approved uniform and nothing else’ policy. No ‘flair’ or anything else, just the requisite business stuff,” a third person said.

‘Suddenly all the problems have disappeared. But of course the left-wing ‘feels’ crowd won’t be able to send a good signal if that happens.’

Another person said, “You would think Target would give its employees a chance to express themselves. At least that’s what they radiate, but apparently not.’
