Oti Mabuse took to Instagram to document his first flight with his young daughter for his older sister Motsi Mabuse’s 42nd birthday on Thursday.
The Dancing On Ice judge, 33, gave birth to her first child six weeks prematurely in autumn 2023 and has not yet confirmed his name or date of birth.
However, fans do know that the baby is a girl after Motsi, 42, accidentally revealed this following Oti and her husband Marius Iepure’s birth announcement on Christmas Day on Instagram.
Oti traveled to Germany, a country she called home for several years, with Marius, but mentioned that she will be flying home alone.
Motsi lives in Germany and presents the dance competition Let’s Dance there, although she maintains her role as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing.

On his numerous Instagram Stories, Oti wrote: ‘Our first flight. In her big girl stroller @inglesinababy. Man, this parenting business is a trip.
“I have never held back tears for so long in my life; everything is the first time and I want her to feel calm and comfortable. I was so nervous that she would cry but she laughs, she is interested and, most importantly, she is not afraid absolutely.
‘We are very lucky as parents. NOW FOR THE ACTUAL FLIGHT. Wish us luck @mumandme_app.’
He later wrote: ‘Wow! So many asked for advice that I didn’t do much. I booked the flights based on his sleeping schedule.
‘She usually wakes up at 5am to feed, so I fed her and during the wake I changed her, dressed her and put her in the car. She slept until they checked her luggage because we had to move her, but she went back to sleep immediately.
‘He eventually woke up to have a drink during the flight (we were nervous about take-off and landing so we bought him headphones), which he didn’t need.
“I bought this nursing shirt on Amazon that is dark so it still feels like it’s night and I let it sleep on my skin for comfort.”
Oti, who does not forget her husband, added: ‘Dad was a rock star too! The only difficulty we had was deciding who does what.
‘We realized we couldn’t both do everything, so one of us has the baby and the other packs. “It’s a lot easier to team up so she stays calm and we stay on the same page.”
Otsi concluded: ‘In short!!!! Great first experience. Tomorrow I’m coming home just to see how you’re doing @mar

Through her numerous Instagram Stories, Oti shared the steps she took to ensure she had a smooth flight and praised her husband.
Although the birth of Oti and Marius’ daughter went smoothly, complications later arose and she was diagnosed with sepsis.
She said The sun on Sunday: ‘My sepsis was discovered after childbirth, it’s not something that was overlooked, so I just want to make it clear, as I had read it misinterpreted like that a while ago.
‘My daughter had an infection when she came out and the doctors gave her treatment. I didn’t have time to panic, we were just focused on her getting better.’
The former Strictly Come Dancing professional explained that she always felt her daughter was in “good hands” as doctors gave her the best treatment possible.
Oti added that the little girl had to learn to eat on her own and breathe on her own, but admitted that the neonatal unit is a world she knows little about and said the team did an “incredible” job.
The dancer saw the ‘incredible’ work of the midwives and had the support of friends and family every day when she could not physically be by her baby’s side.
Oti rejoined the Dancing on Ice judging panel for its final series, but appreciated that it’s not the same for her as most new mothers go back to work so soon after having a baby.
She explained that she felt “grateful and privileged” that her job consisted of dressing up glamorously once a week for the Sunday show, watching the stars skate, and then returning home.
The arrival of Oti and Marius’ baby girl was announced on Christmas Day and Oti did not reveal the complications she suffered until later.
