Olivia Culpo’s wedding look came under fire again, but this time it was another critic who slammed her makeup look.
After tying the knot with NFL star Christian McCaffrey over the weekend, the 32-year-old model faced criticism for her wedding look and once again defended herself when she was called a “pick-me.”
This comes after another Instagram personality named Kennedy Bingham said that the bride’s modest wedding dress “said nothing” and had an “absence of personality,” prompting the newlyweds to retaliate and call the content creator “evil.”
This time, another TikToker named Jess Weslie also criticized Culpo’s look, agreeing that she was “giving off pick me” vibes,” but this time because of her makeup, which included no mascara, eyebrow pencil or lip liner.
In a series of videos, he said the bride looked “stunning” but criticized Vogue for its coverage of the couple’s wedding and said Culpo wore little makeup.
The TikTok user said that when she read the article covering Culpo and McCaffrey Italian themed evening on the lawn of the Watch Hill Hotel, which overlooked Taylor Swift’s infamous Rhode Island vacation home, “I immediately got ‘pick-me’ vibes.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I love Olivia Culpo,” she began in her first video posted Wednesday. “But the fact that Vogue had to go into detail and say that Olivia Culpo doesn’t wear mascara, eyebrow makeup or lip liner, it gave me a feeling of like, ‘I like her.'”
She shared her disbelief, remarking “I know that for real” and said she could see Culpo had lifted her eyelashes and was “obviously” using something on her lips.
“The fact that they pointed out that she doesn’t have anything on her eyebrows, like an eyebrow pencil… Well, maybe that’s real, but for Vogue to even point these things out gave me a very strange feeling, because obviously Olivia Culpo did something about not wearing mascara, not wearing lip liner, not wearing a pencil on her eyebrows,” she continued.
Shortly after, Culpo commented under the video and wrote: ‘It was an interview… they asked me what my makeup was…’
Weslie then shared more TikTok clips, reiterating that the article was “misleading” because of how Culpo failed to disclose that she had “done things to her face to enhance her beauty.”
She said she supported anything that made her feel “confident,” but claimed it was “very unnecessary” to bring up the points about the lack of mascara, eyebrow pencil and lip liner in Culpo’s wedding makeup.
Because they omit that “there is something that replaces” makeup, Weslie said it “sends a message to young girls” by comparing herself to Culpo and believing she is a natural and unattainable beauty.
A TikToker named Jess Weslie also criticized Culpo’s look, agreeing that it “gave off ‘pick me’ vibes,” but this time for her makeup, which included no mascara, eyebrow pencil or lip liner.
Culpo also commented under the video in defense of her wedding makeup choice.
This comes after another Instagram personality named Kennedy Bingham said that the bride’s modest wedding dress “said nothing” and had an “absence of personality,” prompting Culpo’s now-husband to retaliate and call the content creator “evil.”
The TikTok user later also defended another content creator, who previously criticized Culpo’s chic wedding dress and was called “evil” by both McCaffrey and Culpo.
“What a mean thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, like my beautiful wife does,” he commented on an Instagram clip of Bingham talking about how poorly Culpo’s wedding dress had turned out.
In the comments section of the same reel uploaded to the influencer’s TikTok page, Olivia herself shared her thoughts, also responding to the influencer’s criticism.
“Wow, what an evil person you are. I hope no one rips you to pieces like this because it is extremely painful. I love this dress and it was everything I ever wanted and more,” the model wrote.
Weslie also criticized the NFL star for using the word “evil,” saying he didn’t think it was “an appropriate thing to say” to someone like a public figure.
Weslie said that if they wanted to avoid criticism, they should not have advertised their wedding in Vogue.
She also blamed them for not being a celebrity like Millie Bobby Brown, who kept her own nuptials out of the public eye.
She said that was “part of the job,” but added that she understood McCaffrey was “coming from a good place.”
“I understand that he’s protecting his wife,” he said, but added that calling someone “evil” was something he “didn’t think was appropriate to say.”
