The 2024 presidential campaign is on the line as Joe Biden’s team unveiled its re-election strategy, arguing it’s not about the candidate’s age but what he will do for the country.
The fight against Donald Trump begins as Biden gets to work countering concerns about his physical stamina. His re-election team is planning a month of high-energy events for the 81-year-old incumbent. Officials said it’s not about the age of the candidates (Trump is 77) but the age of his ideas.
“There won’t be a contrast in ages, it will be a contrast in the age of the candidates’ ideas,” Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler said in a conference call with reporters.
“It will be a contrast of ideas, not a contrast of ages,” he said.
President Joe Biden will get down to business after his State of the Union address.
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will visit every battleground state this month, his campaign announced Friday, in a shock campaign event to show that the general election has begun.
His campaign has called March the “month of action.”
The president will be in Pennsylvania on Friday and Georgia on Saturday. Next week he will campaign in New Hampshire on Monday, Wisconsin on Wednesday and Michigan on Thursday. Harris will visit Arizona on Friday and Nevada on Saturday.
Biden’s cabinet will also get into action. The secretaries of the Treasury, Interior, Agriculture, Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Energy and Veterans Affairs will hit the road to talk about what the Biden administration has accomplished.
After Biden’s powerful State of the Union address, in which the president only made one major misstep, his re-election team outlined their plans for victory in November.
His campaign team argued they are better positioned for the election and criticized Trump and the Republican National Committee for having to deal with “infighting and scandals” while paying Trump’s legal bills.
“They’re in a situation where in the battleground states that are critical to winning this election there’s infighting and scandals,” said campaign chairwoman Jen O’Malley Dillon of the Republicans.
Biden’s campaign has $130 million in the bank, while Trump has faced more than $540 million in legal payments and millions more in legal fees.
“The resources are not there for them,” O’Malley Dillon said.
But Trump leads in most polls on the 2024 showdown. And Biden faces a 56% disapproval rating, according to the Five Thirty Eight Survey Averagealong with questions about their physical capabilities.
And Trump has had a good week with the Supreme Court ruling that he remains on the ballot and the high court deciding to hear his presidential immunity argument in April, delaying a trial or verdict in the many cases against him until later of the November elections.

Trump faces federal and state charges in Georgia for his actions to try to overturn the 2020 presidential results. And he faces federal charges related to classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago home.
Biden’s campaign argues that the former president will be distracted by legal issues and has shown no interest in expanding his voter base.
‘We know he lost in 2020. And so to win, he has to expand his voter base to find new people who are with him. And that’s not something that he’s shown that he’s really focused on. You saw Nikki Haley come out and drop out of the race this week. And, instead of putting his arms around them, as we certainly have, Trump actually mocked his supporters and suggested, whether they were donors or supporters, that he doesn’t need their vote,” O’Malley said. Dillon.
After Haley dropped out of the Republican primary campaign, Biden praised her “courage” in challenging Trump and then made a play for his supporters.
‘Donald Trump made it clear that he does not want Nikki Haley followers. “I want to be clear: there is a place for them in my campaign,” he said.
Many of Haley’s voters described their support for her as a vote against Trump.
Haley, in her remarks Wednesday announcing her exit from the presidential race, did not endorse Trump.
Instead, he said the former president must earn her support and that of her voters.
‘Now it is up to Donald Trump to win the votes of those inside and outside our party who did not support him. And I hope you do,’ he said.
Trump also made a play for Haley’s supporters, but insulted the former South Carolina governor in the process, noting that he “defeated” her.
He said he would like to “invite all Haley supporters to join the largest movement in our nation’s history.” BIDEN IS THE ENEMY, HE IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!’

Biden’s campaign maintains its focus is on the ground to attract voters, many of whom have expressed dismay that the 2024 race is a rematch of the 2020 presidential race.
“Trump is bleeding money, he’s really behind on building the infrastructure that you would expect to see from a former president.” “He’s not really focused on building new people around him,” O’Malley Dillon said.
The campaign is investing heavily in ads, volunteers and movements to get its supporters to the polls.
“We firmly believe that this race will be on the ground, in key states that are critical to our multiple paths to 270 (electoral votes), and everything we are doing this month to start the general election is based on that premise,” the president said. campaign director, Julie Chávez Rodríguez.
Biden’s campaign is also planning a $30 million, six-week advertising campaign that will target undecided voters and blocs such as Hispanic, African-American and Asian voters.
“In the next six weeks we will spend more than we spent in all of 2023 to make our way through our fractured media environment,” said Rob Flaherty, deputy campaign manager. “We are going to reach voters through connected television and other digital platforms.”
