A video of Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookies trying to identify items commonly used during the 1990s has social media users feeling old after watching it.
Running back Bucky Irving, safety Tykee Smith, linebacker Chris Braswell and offensive linemen Graham Barton and Elijah Klein were tasked with correctly naming four items.
Some items were easier to identify than others, like a Power Rangers action figure.
However, at least one of the newbies was stumped and couldn’t correctly identify a floppy disk (actually a diskette), a VHS tape, or a cassette tape.
The video went viral on social media and Twitter users collectively felt like they had aged after watching it.
Buccaneers rookies had a hard time identifying commonly used items like VHS tapes and cassettes.
Many kids of the 80s and 90s were distressed to see newbies struggle with this task.
“They couldn’t identify a VHS tape, a floppy disk or a cassette tape. I feel old,” wrote one user.
Another said: “*Sees this and immediately applies for AARP membership while softly crying.”
“When I saw the objects they were identifying, it struck me as if I had been shot by a stray gun,” another user said.
Another posted: “I don’t think us babies of the late 80s and mid 90s realize how lucky we were to experience life RIGHT BEFORE the Internet and still be the first generation to fully utilize the Internet.”
While the Buccaneers may not be successful at correctly guessing the names of commonly used items from three decades ago, they have had success on the football field.
Tampa Bay currently has a 2-1 record in the NFC South division, tied with rivals New Orleans Saints.
After winning their first two games of the season against the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions, they lost last Sunday to the Denver Broncos.
They will hope to get back to winning ways next Sunday when they host the Philadelphia Eagles.
