NFL reporter Charissa Thompson opened up about her decision not to have children while appearing on Kylie Kelce’s ‘Not Gonna Lie’ podcast.
Thompson, 42, works on Amazon Prime’s NFL coverage and joined Kelce on his new show to talk about his life and career this week.
At one point, Kelce, who is pregnant with her fourth child, steered the discussion toward family life and underscored the respect she has for Thompson by speaking publicly about her decision.
“I’ve already professed my deep gratitude in person, but I want to do it publicly on this podcast,” he said. “One of the things you’ve been very public about is your decision not to have children.”
Thompson explained to Kelce that the decision stems in part from previous marital struggles. In 2020, Thompson separated from sports agent Kyle Thousand and was previously married in her mid-twenties.
“Everyone has a choice, or sometimes you don’t have a choice that becomes your reality,” Thompson said.

‘My decision not to have children arose from my struggle in marriage. I have been divorced twice and had some situations that created a lot of mistrust and a lot of pain.
‘I don’t want to get attached to something I can’t separate myself from. I can walk away from those marriages, but I can’t walk away from children.
‘I always wanted to have children. I also thought I was going to live happily ever after. For me, it came back to control.
There are so many other things that can happen when you have a child and for me everything is back under control.’
Kelce, 32, who is married to Travis Kelce’s brother Jason, posted the clip to her podcast’s Instagram page with the caption: “So grateful to Charissa Thompson for opening up and using her platform to talk about her decision.” of not having children.” .’
