Shannon Sharpe revealed the truth behind his live-streamed sex tape on Instagram early Wednesday, where he and a woman could be heard making intimate noises for about a minute.
Sharpe admitted that he was not the victim of a hack nor was the video a prank. The veteran NFL tight end confirmed that he was having sex during the video.
The sports commentator said he accidentally pressed the buttons to go live without being technologically capable.
Sharpe also admitted that it was not him who stopped the live stream, but someone on his team.
“I feel embarrassed for a number of reasons. People expect Shannon to be professional, even when I’m behind closed doors,” Sharpe said as part of a special edition of “Nightcap” with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

“I’m very disappointed in myself, not because of the act. There are millions and billions of people of consenting age who participate in activities.”
Sharpe said the aftermath of his Instagram Live brought him to tears.
Interestingly, the second announcement before the start of the special edition of ‘Nightcap’ was Sharpe’s endorsement of Ro Sparks, a pill he claims to be ‘a long-acting treatment in a new sublingual form to get into the bloodstream faster so it can be more spontaneous’.
Sharpe said that whenever she has intimate moments in the future, she will leave her phone in the car.
The former Denver Bronco also mentioned his interest in returning to a flip phone.
Johnson said he had “73 missed calls” with people trying to reach him through the live sex stream.
“Everyone loves to make fun of my situation,” Sharpe said.
Throughout the video, the woman can be heard moaning, while at other times she appears to say Shannon’s name. Sharpe declined to identify the woman during the livestream.
However, the camera was pointed toward the ground for most of the clip, and the former NFL star said early Wednesday that he had been hacked.
‘Hey, my Instagram @shannonsharpe84 was hacked this morning, my team and I are working hard to get this resolved – UNC,’ Sharpe posted on her Instagram story before deleting her message.

Sharpe said he hosted a rare FaceTime conversation with Deion Sanders to discuss what went wrong on his live stream.
One of Sharpe’s fans mocked him on his live stream, saying, “Happy Hunchback Day, dude!”
