Chilling images have emerged from live streaming of a teenager allegedly brandishing a knife in an MP’s office as part of a planned terror attack.
Emergency services were called to Newcastle Museum in Honeysuckle, near the city’s financial district, at around 12.30pm on Wednesday after reports of a man dressed in tactical gear including a helmet and ballistic vest.
Police arrested Jordan Patten, 19, of Raymond Terrace, who was charged Thursday morning with one count of “other acts carried out in preparation or planning for a terrorist act” by the Joint Counter-Terrorism Team (JCTT). .
The teenager allegedly streamed the attempted attack live on the video website Twitch with a camera strapped to a helmet.
Footage from the livestream shows the man in a toilet at Newcastle Civic Theater before crossing a road and entering Newcastle MP Tim Crakanthorp’s office.
He then quickly left the office and walked towards the museum on Workshop Way, where a member of staff can be heard telling him “you can’t dress like that”, before raising the alarm.
The employee watched the man as he entered the building and said, ‘You have to leave (because you are) dressed like that, sir.’
“Go outside please.”
The livestream then shows the man leaving the museum and placing his knife and bag on a seat before the doors close behind him.

The employee (pictured, center) told the man, who was wearing tactical gear and allegedly brandishing a knife, several times to leave the museum before he complied.
The man behind the camera does not say a single word during the seven minutes of the video as he calmly walks between locations.
A statement from New South Wales Police confirmed that “a number of items were seized” when they searched him and they will be taken away. for more detailed analysis.
“Following further investigation, police have learned of the existence of a document that had been distributed to several public figures and media outlets,” the statement read.
“There is no ongoing threat to the community in connection with this investigation.”
The 19-year-old was refused bail at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.
