New South Wales v Queensland: Phil Gould BLASTS NRL officiating after Felise Kaufusi is sin binned

‘They’re giving them away as SMARTIES!’: Phil Gould BLASTS NRL acting after Felise Kaufusi is sentenced to sin as expert fears controversial call will RUN Origin II clash in Perth

Phil Gould has blown the standard of service at Origin II after Felise Kaufusi was controversially sent to the bin late in the first half in Perth.

With Queensland narrowly ahead and under the pump, referee Ashley Klein penalized the big man for intentionally slowing the ruck on the try-line and NSW scored shortly after via Brian To’o to take the lead.

However, Bulldogs chief Gould made the decision, fearing it would have ruined the spectacle at Optus Stadium.

“I’m disappointed in the sin bin, for the sake of the game, let’s hope that doesn’t determine the outcome,” he said of Nine.

“I hate sin bins at the best of times, let alone Origin. I don’t think there was ever a warning here, he got Flannigan in a minute four or five, had enough and sent him away.

“Now they will justify that, but in Origin football or in any other football I don’t think it should have come to that.

“All those six you gave to put them in the realm of sin, you would need a magnifying glass to find out exactly what had gone wrong or why it should be punished.

“The fact that it’s six again means they’re giving them away like smart guys. You don’t need it, it’s Origin football.’

Fatty added: ‘There were five in a row, I mean it’s a gee-up. Nobody knows what they are for. Nobody here knows, nobody at home knows, we don’t know, we’re so-called experts, so-called.’
