A new mom has revealed how she accidentally put her baby up for sale on Facebook’s marketplace after trying to flog her couch.

Lucy Battle, 20, of Burnley, was trying to give her her old two-seater sofa when she accidentally posted a photo of her seven-month-old son Oscar on a Facebook post with the caption “going out today.”

She thought she’d only posted pictures of the brown couch, but didn’t realize she’d added little Oscar, smiling, to the post the couch was offering for free.

Lucy Battle, 20, of Burnley, was trying to give her her old two-seater sofa when she accidentally posted a photo of her seven-month-old son Oscar on a Facebook post with the caption “going out today.”

And she was immediately inundated with comments from people asking about his behavior and how he played with other kids — joking if they could trade the adorable Oscar for their teens.

Luckily, Lucy saw the funny side and even managed to slide the couch.

“I posted a picture of my old sofa on Facebook because I got a new one and I wanted the old one gone asap, so I thought I’d give it away to someone who needs it,” she explains.

“I was flipping through my photos on my camera roll on my phone and I must have picked one of Oscar’s.

“At first I was confused about what people were saying in the comments, then I looked at the post and the main photo was of him.

“I was so ashamed—and I couldn’t even remove it.”

A local mother wrote: ‘Can I trade for a teenager?’

Another commented, “How’s the dishes going?”

A third joked, “How is he with other babies?”

One mom even offered a barter deal, writing, “How about a two for one trade? Teen 14, brother 6 and I throw the dad in for free?’

She had posted the photos to a local Facebook group for items for sale last month, but her post went viral when people flooded it with the hilarious comments.

She added: ‘I just thought ‘oh no, that’s so embarrassing’.

“Luckily everyone was joking about it.

“I was blown away by how much everyone wanted him.

“The person who came to pick up the bank didn’t make an offer for him, they just wanted the couch.”
