We have bad news for Beats fans: in 2018 you will probably not get new headphones from the Dr. see, and yes, that also applies to tomorrow's iPhone event.
That little disappointing news comes from an anonymous source who spoke with The Verge and told the publication that Apple is interrupting the release cycle of the high-end headphones brand while they are working on other audio products themselves.
Although Apple still has to confirm exactly what those products are, chances are that it's the AirPods 2, full of an AirPower-compatible charging enclosure and possibly a new pair of over-ear headphones that will be affected by the Beats Studio. Wireless setup.
These potential products have been obscured by research reports conducted earlier this year, as well as by Barclays analysts who visited Apple's overseas production partners.
Although their existence seems to be relatively well established, when they are unveiled another thing is complete … but because Apple has an event in, about 24 hours or so, we may not wait much longer to find out.
Beats Bye Dre
If Apple does not release a new pair of Beats, a large part of the fans would be disappointed with the absence of the brand. Much worse, however, it would continue the trend whereby Apple concentrates more on its own internal headphones instead of developing the Beats brand.
By comparison, the latest new headphones to be released under the Beats banner were the Beats X, released in February 2017, which debuted alongside the Beats Studio 3 and Powerbeats 3 in-ear headphones.
That said, it was a quiet year for the most popular headphone manufacturer and if the source of The Verge is correct, it seems that it will stay that way.
