A video has revealed the chilling moment a babysitter in California was caught allegedly abusing a defenseless two-day-old baby.

The newborn’s parents revealed that their two-day-old daughter appeared to have been brutally abused by a trusted babysitter just hours after returning home from the hospital.

The Bay Area parents, identified only as ‘D’ and ‘T,’ were left devastated after reviewing baby monitor footage that showed their newborn daughter, ‘Baby H,’ being violently shaken, hit and thrown around the room, revealed in a ABC7 exclusive.

The full extent of the abuse is too graphic to show to the public.

“It’s definitely horrible for any parent and family to go through that,” the father told the outlet.

‘We all thought we could trust her. “I never imagined that something like this could happen,” he added.

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe described the case as extraordinarily serious.

‘What caught my attention the most when I read the case was the age of the victim. “That’s what’s so unusual for us,” he told ABC7.

Wagstaffe warned the alleged abuser could face a serious prison sentence.

“If we can convict them, to me, prison is the only answer for someone who would do something like this repeatedly, not once out of anger or loss of self-control, but repeatedly,” Wagstaffe said.

“If the evidence supports it, this person would easily go to prison for double digits of years.”

The babysitter, who was hired through a social media referral, has not yet been identified or charged.

The parents said she seemed “legitimate” from their phone call before they hired her.

“From the phone call we had with her, she sounded very legitimate and seemed like a good babysitter,” the father told the outlet.

“Of course, we also interviewed the babysitter,” he said.

The parents said she seemed “legitimate” from their phone call before they hired her.

But they noticed ‘aggressive behaviour’ and after dismissing her, they reviewed the footage when they discovered the shocking acts of abuse.

“Of course we feel guilty as parents,” the father said.

‘My goal is to warn parents about this babysitter. “I don’t want any family, baby or mother to experience this again,” added the boy’s mother.
