Mystery over man found dying after suffering horrific injuries – as police appeal for help after his death three days later

A mysterious death in Queensland has sparked an investigation as detectives search for information that could shed light on the case.

The 37-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries on Sharples Road in the north-east Rockhampton suburb of Berserker at around 8am on January 2.

The man was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital, where he died on January 5.

The circumstances that led to the man being seriously injured and then left for dead on the suburban highway are unclear.

“Investigations into the circumstances and cause of death are ongoing,” a police spokesman said.

“Residents or anyone who was in the vicinity of Sharples Road, Berserker on the morning of January 2 and saw or heard anything is asked to contact police.”
