A teenager and his friends shocked their classmates by arriving at their school’s prom in body bags.

Lucas Jameson, 16, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, made a grand entrance at his year 11 prom dressed in a £600 suit and wrapped in a black body bag, along with two of his friends.

The idea came about after a family friend suggested it to Lucas, and before long, his stepfather, Dean Jameson, stepped in to make it a reality. He got his friends involved in the prank by telling them they couldn’t attend with him unless they were involved, too.

A video posted on Facebook shows the three teenagers being pulled from the back of a blue pickup truck in black body bags before being dumped on the ground and cut open by men wearing balaclavas.

Lucas’s mother, Laura Jameson, 38, was fully on board with the stunt, although she feared shocked onlookers would call the police. She said: “If anyone had been watching me I probably would have called the police because I had asked for three body bags and balaclavas.

“I was excited, it seemed like a brilliant idea. It’s always great to be original and think of something different.

“It’s better than a traditional luxury car. I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

The clever lad also cosplayed the Duke of Edinburgh, which perhaps explains the high price tag on the costume.

Laura, a mother of four who works as an autism assessment and support consultant, added: “He was also doing his Duke of Edinburgh exam at the same time so I asked him for a knife and everything so it probably looked like he was up to something.”

The boys were taken away for their big day on July 6 at the Foxfields Country Hotel in Billington, Lancashire.

The grand finale required extensive planning, as well as an array of props, including balaclavas and body bags, which Laura said she purchased on Amazon.

For those who thought Lucas’s entrance was spectacular enough, it was nothing compared to his initial plan, which involved being thrown from a moving helicopter.

The total cost of the body bag stunt was around £60 and as it was much cheaper than hiring a helicopter, Lucas decided to spend the money he saved on a £600 suit to wear that night.

Lucas tricked his friends into joining in on the pranks by telling them they couldn’t attend the prom with him unless they participated too.

Laura was delighted with the performance, as were other students who said it was the “best” entrance they had ever seen.

Lucas and his family were all for the extravagant entrance, but his friends had a hard time convincing them to join in. Lucas said he told them they had to do it or they couldn’t go to prom with him.

Laura sneakily informed one of the teachers about the plan beforehand so the school could have cameras ready.

She continued: ‘Everyone said that was the best entry they had ever seen, all the teachers said it was absolutely original.

“I think they’ll always remember it and I think everyone else will too. They’ll think about it for years to come.”

“The best one, compared to theirs, was when a girl was driving a tractor and someone was riding a horse.”
