Chasing 262 for a win, Sri Lanka suffered a hitting collapse without any of their batters showing intent to stay in the fold, as they were all out of 124 in 35.2 overs.
For Sri Lanka, Lasith Malinga, whose last ODI was against India in a home series in September 2017, stole the spotlight and returned with figures of 4/23. This was the lowest ODI total in Sri Lanka against Bangladesh.
While Sri Lanka plays in Afghanistan on September 17, Bangladesh will play in Afghanistan on September 20.
