An associate of the Finks motorcycle gang has been identified as the victim of a targeted shooting in Sydney’s west.

Jamie Goodworth, 32, arrived at Liverpool hospital but died shortly after 1am on Saturday after being shot twice.

Goodworth, of Mount Druitt, arrived at hospital at 12.53am on Saturday with two gunshot wounds that were so severe that medical staff were unable to identify him.

They immediately took him into emergency surgery, but they couldn’t save him.

Liverpool City Police Superintendent Adam Whyte said Goodworth appeared to be the victim of a targeted attack.

‘It seems like it’s a target. “It doesn’t seem to be something random,” he told reporters.

Superintendent Whyte said he had been dropped off at the hospital by a man in a blue car and that vehicle had since been impounded.

Superintendent Whyte declined to say more about the man who drove to the hospital.

“We are investigating with the State Crime Command and investigating the locations related to the blue vehicle that we have in custody,” he said.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad are investigating the incident and the victim’s links to his associates.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Liverpool Police or Crime Stoppers.
