A heated dispute broke out in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs after a neighbor complained about a wild Halloween party held at a dilapidated mansion scheduled for renovation.

The five-bedroom property in Mosman, which sold to developers for $8 million in June last year, features a spacious roof terrace with panoramic views of Balmoral and Manly beaches.

But, according to a neighbor, the mansion has since been converted into a “fraternity house” after being rented out while developers finalize its future.

Before the Halloween celebration held on Saturday, those living in the ‘fraternity house’ distributed notices to nearby homes, warning neighbors about the upcoming event.

“We are writing to notify you that we will be hosting a gathering tonight to celebrate Halloween,” the note said.

The letter promised that “noise and nuisance” would be kept within reason out of respect for the surrounding community and acknowledged potential inconveniences.

‘The police are aware of this incident.

“We understand that residing next to a home hosting an event can be disruptive and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Despite this tranquility, the party continued until after midnight and finally ended around 2:30 am, a neighbor said.

“(It’s) when an old house sells for $8 million and is turned into a frat house while developers decide what to do with it,” the frustrated resident said.

The latest in a series of house parties in Mosman, in Sydney’s north, (pictured) has sparked a neighborhood dispute after a nearby resident said they “closed at 2.30am”.

The house, built in 1981, was first listed for sale in June 2023 and was described as an “exceptionally unique opportunity” to build in an “idyllic Balmoral setting”.

“It is the quintessential setting for a family lifestyle, where a morning swim and stroll along the sands of Balmoral Beach is just 130 meters away,” the advert reads.

A renovated home on the same street sold for a whopping $10.4 million in August of this year.
