Paramedics responding to a medical emergency were left traumatized after a car allegedly attempted to side-swipe them before a gun was brandished through the window.
The ambulance was responding to reports of a person who had collapsed and was driving on Mount Cotton Road in Capalaba, in Brisbane’s south, at 7pm on Wednesday.
Queensland Police alleged a stolen Toyota Kluger began running towards them and repeatedly swerved towards them before an occupant brandished what they believed was a gun.
The crew radioed for help, claiming that the occupants were trying to blind them with a laser pointer.
An ambulance crew rushing to a medical emergency were allegedly terrorized by a car that repeatedly tried to pass them by.
They were then forced to flee to a local police station, abandoning their attempts to locate the patient.
Another ambulance was sent in its place.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the incident had left crews shaken.
“This is totally abhorrent behavior that not only endangered the paramedics but also the patient they were trying to reach,” he said.
“It could have been your loved one, your child or your mother or father, who were in danger because the ambulance trying to get to them had to flee to safety.”
“We are asking people to clear the way for emergency vehicles and help ensure they reach their destination safely.”

Queensland Police have charged a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
The man was charged with a series of offenses including dangerously operating a motor vehicle, driving without a licence, injuring a police dog and obstructing police.
The woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The couple will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
