A mom who was told she would never walk again after being paralyzed in an ATV accident defied all odds by walking down the aisle on her wedding day.

With the help of a walker, Brittney Bedwell, 26, of Indiana, was able to let her father walk her through her hallway on Saturday as she married her now-husband, Glen, in front of their family and friends.

‘It was very important to me because I could see my sisters walking down the aisle with [our dad], and I knew I wanted to do that, so I had to push myself even harder,” she said WISH.

The heartwarming moment was one she was told would never happen after a devastating accident changed her life forever.

Four years ago, Brittany and her young son had an ATV accident that left her paralyzed. Fortunately, her son was not injured, but she suffered serious injuries and was in the hospital for months.

It was an uphill battle for the mother, who underwent multiple surgeries and struggled with a serious infection.

“A doctor told me I would never walk again, and I didn’t want to believe that, and I did for a while and I had depression and anxiety,” she said.

“But once I got over that, I woke up one day and I just started to feel some things in my legs and I knew it wasn’t over yet.”

Brittany began to see progress in physical therapy and her Glen proposed to her while she was in the hospital.

She was also told during her recovery that she would not be able to have children, but she is now four months pregnant.

The mother-to-be attributed her mental strength to helping her break through these physical boundaries after her accident.

Just days after her wedding, Brittany is ready to go back to physical therapy and get out of her wheelchair for good.

Brittany’s sister Ashley Sieb celebrated her monumental milestone facebook featuring photos from her big day and a video of her walking down the aisle.

“She leaves me speechless. So, I’ll just say – Brittney Bedwell inspires me to never give up. To believe in miracles. To stay strong. To defy the odds. To love deeply and freely,” she wrote. ‘Happy wedding day, sister. You are BEAUTIFUL and STRONG!’
