Mohamed Salah says he is disappointed with Liverpool’s powers that be, revealing he has yet to receive any offers to stay at the club and is “more out than in.”

The Egyptian’s contract expires at the end of this season and Salah says there is “no club like” Liverpool.

But speaking to a small selection of journalists after Sunday’s win at Southampton, Salah said: “It’s almost December and I still haven’t received any offers to stay at the club. “I’m probably more out than in.

“You know that I have been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December and I still have not received anything about my future.

‘I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or in those of the fans.”

Asked if he was disappointed by the lack of progress, Salah added: “Of course I am. I’m not retiring anytime soon so I’m just playing, concentrating on the season and trying to win the Premier League and hopefully also the Champions League. I’m disappointed but we’ll see.

‘I am very professional. Everyone can see my work ethic. “I just try to enjoy football and I will play at the highest level for as long as possible.”

sport mail It is understood that Liverpool have been in contact with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, about the contract and senior Anfield sources have suggested those talks have been positive.

Salah, who is Liverpool’s highest-earning player, has not spoken to written journalists in the mixed zone for five years. At St Mary’s, he personally singled out some journalists and asked to speak to them, clearly intending to vent.

The 32-year-old also smiled when asked about Saudi Arabia’s past interest.

He has already scored 12 goals and registered 10 more assists this season, including two goals on Sunday to turn the game around and leave Liverpool eight points clear.

Fellow stars Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold will also see their deals expire next summer and neither have signed new contracts yet.

Salah, who has scored 223 goals in 367 games since arriving from Roma in 2017, can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.

When asked in September about his uncertain future, Salah said: “No one at the club talked to me about contracts yet, so I said: ‘Okay, I’m playing my last season and we’ll see the end of the season.’

As reported by sport mailLiverpool rejected a lucrative £150m offer from Saudi side Al-Ittihad in 2023, but Salah remains tight-lipped about interest.

‘I don’t want to talk about it. Now I’m focused on the team,” he said.

Speaking at the start of a crucial week which sees the Reds host Real Madrid in the Champions League and Manchester City in the top flight, Salah added: “We weren’t at our best (at St Mary’s), but it’s a win important.

‘After other international breaks we had problems against Forest and Chelsea. I’m glad we managed to win after losing 2-1.

‘I’m just playing my game, trying to relax and just play. The entire team now has chemistry with the new coach. “Hopefully we keep winning and in the end we win something.”
