Model Caprice Bourret reveals how she felt her career was over at just 28-years-old due to fears of ageism in the industry but now urges women to ’embrace getting older’

Model Caprice Bourret has revealed how she felt “over the hill” when she was just 28 years old.

The American, who rose to fame after appearing at the National Television Awards in 1996, said age discrimination in modeling is so widespread: “I was thinking, ‘Oh my God, I’m 28, that’s the end of my life.’ career.’ It affected me in a horrible way. It was a disease in the industry.”

But the former Dancing On Ice star, who has her own lingerie brand, was asked on the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast what advice she would give to her own daughter.

She urged women: ‘We don’t have to be victims. Embrace getting older, it’s an incredible journey and it’s fantastic when you get there.’

Model Caprice Bourret has revealed how she felt “over the hill” when she was just 28 years old.

The woman, now 52, ​​urged women to accept aging and not have to be victims of age discrimination.

She continued: “I was really scared, it really affected me in a horrible way.” She was a disease in the industry and she would probably just tell him ‘you know what, you’re only going to get better’.

“Embrace getting older because it’s an incredible journey and it’s great when you get there.”

The California-born television personality implored women not to fall into victimhood, adding, “Let’s not be victims, ladies, because we don’t have to.”

But the model, who married Ty Comfort in 2019, admitted that “ageism is real”, although she managed to turn it into something positive, focusing on taking care of her own body.

She said that despite age discrimination, “I still have great opportunities because I take care of my body.”

She said: ‘Ageism is real, but here I am with my positivity.

‘There’s a flip side: I do work very hard on my appearance, and that’s my prerogative, (because) I like to feel good and that makes me feel good inside and out.

The woman, who is now 52 years old, has two ten-year-old children, one of them born by surrogate, with British financier Ty Comfort.

She said that despite age discrimination, “I still have great opportunities because I take care of my body.”
