At the start of the FA Cup quarter-final weekend, eight clubs could see Wembley Arch in the distance.

For four of the teams, they will travel to the home of English football, while the other four will find themselves left behind.

On Saturday, two clubs booked their place for the next round in very different ways.

Championship side Coventry traveled to underdogs Molineux, who were expected to be swept aside, but two injury-time goals saw them pull off the upset.

For Manchester City, it was much less dramatic, two deflected goals from Bernardo Silva in the first half allowed them to qualify for the next round.

There are still two games to play as Chelsea host Leicester and Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

But who awaits the winners of these ties in the next round? Mail Sport simulated the semi-final repechage to see who they could potentially face.

Coventry will visit Wembley Stadium for the fourth time in seven years following their victory against Wolves.

Last season’s trip saw them just one kick away from earning promotion to the Premier League after losing on penalties to Luton Town.

But their reward this year, according to the mock draft, is a tie with a team looking to repeat the three-peat it achieved last year.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are hitting the usual heights we see from them at this stage of the season.

They swept aside Copenhagen in the Champions League last 16 and are third in the Premier League, just one point behind Arsenal in the league.

A draw with Coventry City could present them with the clearest opportunity to make their second FA Cup final in as many years.

But Mark Robins’ side should be full of confidence and could prove very dangerous in what would be something of a set piece.

Chelsea or Leicester City versus Manchester United or Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool would have to go through Chelsea or Leicester to pursue their quadruple dream if they beat Manchester United.

The draw left us with the biggest storyline of the tournament with all four teams still in play.

But any combination of results could make for an exciting semi-final with so many scenarios on offer.

A Chelsea v Manchester United semi-final could potentially see Mason Mount – who has spent much of the season on the sidelines – come back to haunt his former employers.

For Chelsea, a victory against either team would provide further proof that their patience could be rewarded in the long run.

And for Leicester, the Championship side who appear to be returning to England’s top division, this current cup run will evoke feelings from the time when they lifted the FA Cup in 2021.

For Manchester United, a semi-final finish would represent some positivity in what has been a difficult season for Erik ten Hag’s side.

And who can forget Liverpool? They are still in contention for the quadruple in Jurgen Klopp’s final season with them.

A place in the semi-finals would keep the storybook and the end of the dream alive.
