Microsoft’s new Edge browser randomly crashes when users type in the address bar tonight. The issues seem to affect Edge users who have selected Google as the default search engine. Microsoft says it is aware of the issues and the company’s Edge team is investigating it.
Microsoft recommends disabling Search Suggestions in edge: // settings / search. The edge has tested this solution and solves the problem if Google is set as your default search engine.

Microsoft Edge crashes started at around 7:00 PM ET and it’s not clear why they are limited only to Google Search users. If you switch to Microsoft’s Bing search engine within Edge, the crashes will not occur.
