Michelle Yeoh looked fierce as she reprised her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in a new sneak peek of the upcoming TV movie Star Trek: Section 31.
The Oscar-winning actress, 61, opened the official trailer released Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con by posing as Beyoncé’s song Formation provided the soundtrack.
A title card informed the audience that the preview contains ‘inappropriate content’ as determined by Starfleet Command’s Media Division.
“An emperor can only be loyal to duty,” a girl said in a voice-over.
The clip then showed a younger version of Philippa played by Miku Martineau.

“This is how the empire stays strong,” he continued as he was shown leaving apparently bloody footprints.
“That’s how it grows,” she added as she was honored as emperor by her bowing subjects.
Omari Hardwick, 50, then appeared in an unidentified role, describing Philippa as a tyrant who murdered her own people by the millions.
“The past always catches up with you,” he warned.
Philippa was seen with members of Section 31, which is a black operations division that performs espionage work for Starfleet.
“Starfleet is here to make sure no one commits murder,” future USS Enterprise-C captain Rachel Garrett (Kacey Rohl) tells Philippa.
“What a lovely idea,” Philippa said in the next scene.
Philippa was shown eating what looked like an eyeball and engaging in hand-to-hand combat.

Star Trek: Section 31 follows Philippa as she joins Section 31 to protect the United Federation of Planets while also confronting the sins of her past.
Michelle reprises her role as Philippa from the Paramount+ Discovery series, which stars Sonequa Martin-Green as protagonist Michael Burnham.
Discovery began with Philippa as the captain of the USS Shenzhou, but her character was killed in battle before returning to the Mirror Universe as the ruthless emperor of the Terran Empire.
Star Trek: Section 31 is directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi and written by Craig Sweeny for Paramount+ and will be the first television film in the Star Trek franchise.
The TV movie is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
