A man is in critical condition after suffering a terrible fall from a hotel.

The incident is believed to have happened at the Meriton Suites in Bondi Junction, Sydney’s east, shortly after 5pm on Thursday.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and found the man in critical condition.

He is believed to have suffered cardiac arrest while being treated by paramedics at the scene.

The incident occurred during rush hour in the centre of Sydney’s busiest shopping and commercial area.

A New South Wales Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that officers are treating the incident as a case of self-harm.

Police said they would not be providing further comment on incidents involving self-harm. NSW Ambulance has also been contacted for further comment.

Meriton Suites are renowned providers of luxury accommodation in Sydney, operating 16 locations across the city.

The hotel in Bondi Junction offers guests several premium suites with stunning views of the Sydney skyline.

The hotel has a rating of four out of five stars according to leading online accommodation website TripAdvisor.

A luxury one-bedroom apartment can cost guests up to an impressive $200 per night.
