The Duchess of Sussex mixed sentimental pieces with high-end looks during her three-day tour of Nigeria, but still wore almost £120,000 worth of jewelery and new clothes.
Meghan Markle, 42, has quickly established herself as a fashion inspiration for thousands of fans, known for her love of quiet luxury adorned with sparkling jewelery worth thousands of pounds.
While opting for some high-end brands on her tour of Nigeria, such as Carolina Herrera, Altuzarra and Johanna Ortiz, Meghan also showcased designs from local designers.
To represent Nigeria, which she now refers to as “my country,” Meghan turned to Lagos-based womenswear brand Oríré, and for her native California, the duchess endorsed Santa Barbara designer Heidi Merrick.
However, what added to the pounds on Meghan’s bill were her jewellery, including Princess Diana’s £17,800 Cartier watch, a £15,011.84 ‘Against the Evil Eye’ bracelet from Lorraine Schwartz and a pair of earrings from Jennifer Meyer’s Hammered Disc for £2,605.
