Prince Harry has recently found himself at the centre of fresh speculation, with allegations that his wife, Meghan Markle, is restricting his freedom and keeping him “locked in a cage”. These claims were made public by Lady Victoria Hervey during an interview with GB News.
Hervey suggested Meghan has imposed something of a “ban” on Prince Harry’s social life, reportedly due to fears he might reconnect with old friends and return to his “old life”. Hervey“He wanted to have a big party, and she didn’t want that,” he added. “I think she’s so worried about him getting away and seeing his old friends and spending time with them, that she’s got him in this cage where all he knows is this life he has with her.”
During the conversation, GB News Presenter Nana Akua highlighted Harry’s age, suggesting that at 40 he is too old for such restrictions. However, Lady Hervey hit back, saying: “40 is still very young; men are quite youthful at that age. If he had the choice, he would probably have gone to England with lots of his old friends, but she’s not going to let him do that, is she?”
Hervey went on to claim that Meghan keeps Harry “under very tight control” and that he appears deprived of his personal freedom. “You can see it in him, he’s deprived of his freedom. She’s a kind of therapist and nanny, and he’s very dependent on her,” she concluded. The comments come amid continued public scrutiny surrounding Harry and Meghan’s life in the US, with frequent reports of tensions in their relationship and their step back from royal duties.
