This comes as the feud between the two women escalates once again, this time with Nicki mentioning Megan’s late mother.
While Nicki and Megan had previously collaborated on the 2019 hit Hot Girl Summer, tensions rose and came to a head with Megan’s new song, Hiss.
That song includes the lyrics: “These hoes ain’t mad at Megan / These hoes are mad at Megan’s Law,” in reference to the U.S. law that requires authorities to share information about registered sex offenders with the public.
It comes as the feud between the two women escalated once again, this time with Nicki mentioning Megan’s late mother.
Now Minaj has responded in an Instagram Live video where she tells Megan to “conjure up her mom and apologize” while also criticizing her for the Tory Lane shooting.
Nicki’s fans perceived the lyrics as an insult to her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender and was convicted of attempted rape and spent four years in prison.
The lyrics may also have been directed at Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, who was convicted in 2017 of predatory sexual assault for the rape of his 11-year-old stepdaughter.
A judge sentenced Maraj to 25 years to life in prison in January 2020, after an appeal in 2018 failed.
Now Minaj has responded in an Instagram Live video where she tells Megan to “call her mom and apologize” while also slamming her for the shooting of Tory Lanez.
‘You let everybody get thrown under the bus. You let Da Baby get thrown under the bus, Tory (Lanez), your best friend, your mama. You better go call your mama and tell her… and apologize,’ Minaj said in the IG Live session.
Megan’s mother, Holly Thomas, passed away in March 2019 from a cancerous brain tumor and mentioned her death on Flip Flop from her 2022 album Traumazine.
Megan has not commented publicly on Nicki’s comments, although many fans have on social media.
