The role is not something the rapper – best known for her charts Hot Girl Summer and Savage – takes lightly, with Megan explaining that she wants to use the platform to inspire a ‘new generation of women’.

“I’ve always set the bar high for myself with everything I do, but being a brand ambassador for Revlon now feels like a new level,” she said in a statement.

“To me, the Revlon brand stands for both beauty and feminine power, and I’m excited to help define what that means for a new generation of women.”

The brand has equally impressive expectations for Megan, describing the rapper as ‘the ultimate triple threat’ in a statement about the new partnership.

“Known for her breakout songs, including” Hot Girl Summer “and” Savage, “Megan Thee Stallion is the ultimate triple threat: music artist, social media sensation, and a cutting-edge tastemaker,” said a spokesperson.

“She continues to set and achieve goals in both music and television with a range of awards and achievements to her credit.”

Those successes included a number one Billboard chart for her hit Savage – which quickly became a viral anthem on TikTok, prompting the rapper to record a new version of the song with Beyonce – and a co-host role on the new drag show from HBO Max competition series Legendary.

As the icing on the cake, Megan is also in the middle of studying for her BA in Health Administration at Texas Southern University.

“Megan is a remarkable talent and we know she will only continue to rise to new heights,” said Silvia Galfo, Revlon’s CEO.

“When we first approached her about a partnership nearly a year ago, we were drawn to both her confidence and fierce ambition and her strength to hold back. She likes to express herself with makeup and is a constant inspiration for her fans to live courageously.

“It’s that authenticity and unapologetic spirit that we admire, and we’re excited to welcome her to the Revlon family.”

The beauty brand is not the only organization that considers Megan so highly valued; a day before her new campaign was revealed, the rapper appeared on the front cover of Variety’s Young Hollywood song, opening up about the recent shooting she was involved in.

“I’m not the type of person who can hang around for long,” said Megan. “I don’t like being sad or keeping myself in a dark place because I know this can be the worst, but the pain and bad things don’t last long.”

On July 12, the Savage rapper was treated for a gunshot wound at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after an alleged altercation with rapper Tory Lanez.

She underwent surgery to remove bullets and / or bullet fragments from her feet and has been recovering ever since.

Lanez allegedly shot Megan in the foot after an argument in which she and her friend tried to get out of the SUV in which they all traveled.

According to TMZ, the group set off from a Hollywood Hills house party in the early hours of Sunday morning, but Megan, 25, and her friend Kelsey Nicole at one point wanted to get out of the car with a driver.

TMZ claimed Lanez, 27, then opened fire in the vehicle and hit Megan – who counts Beyonce and Nicki Minaj as her mentors – twice.

Speaking of the social media incident, Megan admitted that she had been “ hurt and traumatized in real life ” by the shooting while dishing out people who had ridiculed her online.

“Black women are so unprotected, and we include so many things to protect others’ feelings without considering ours,” she wrote on Twitter.

“It might be funny to have all of you on the internet and just another messy topic to talk about, but this is my real life and I’m really hurt and traumatized.”
