Meet the six finalists in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’s 2020 #SISwimSearch

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has revealed the last six choices for its 2020 #SISwimSearch – and they include a bald bomb from Pennsylvania, a big stunner from Maryland and a 56-year-old knockout from California.

In October, the magazine first unveiled its 17 finalists for the search, putting a series of sexy women in the spotlight various cast ever.

These six women will make a spread for the magazine in Turks and Caicos Islands before one is named this year’s winner.

The models first deserved attention for walking in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show during the Miami Swim Week on July 14 – and now, seven months later, they have been reduced to just six.

“I have to make many decisions in this position,” editor MJ Day wrote on Instagram yesterday.

‘There is no harder decision to make than selecting the final 6. Not even the cover. We meet great people through #siswimsearch.

‘BUT! These six INCREDIBLE women represent so many things for so many people. I’m just proud and emotional that they want to share their wonderful journeys with you via @si_swimsuit.

“Watch them. To their stories. Encourage them. Lift them up. Because, as one of our newly beaten top six says so eloquently in her video: “we are leaving the world a bit better place”. Congratulations ladies !! ”

From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 25-year-old fitness instructor and dancer Christie Valdiserri⁣⁣⁣ has documented her journey with alopecia – and during the catwalk show last July she proudly turned off her blonde wig to expose her bald head underneath.

“I was inspired to attend the Model Search in Miami when I finally had enough strength and confidence in myself as a bald woman,” she said.

“When I saw interviews from MJ Day that there were NO rules and Winnie Harlow, Hunter McGrady, and Halima Aden saw everywhere in SI Swimsuit, I knew that this was my moment to be a voice for all women and young girls they cry every day because they just want to feel normal again. “

Christie said she was inspired to “teach the next generation that beauty comes from who you are, not from what you look like.”

‘We have been taught to associate her with beauty. We were not born in the belief that hair makes you beautiful, but society has led us to believe that. So I intend to let my personality and my positive nature shine through, whether or not I ever have her on my head again, “she said.

“I want to show the confidence that I have worked so hard for and my love for life to shine through my posts and my presence every day, so young girls or other women who lose their hair or have been hiding under a wig for years have at least a small glimpse of hope.

“I want to give people the little push they need to go from bald to brave,” she added.

When she heard that she had reached the top six and was going to Turks & Caicos within two weeks, she went to Instagram to share her excitement.

I want to give people the little push they need to go from bald to brave

“I’ll be the first SI model that has absolutely no hair in the magazine,” she said. I am so incredibly emotional today and I just want to share that we still have a small old life to live.

“If you hide from something or feel ashamed of whether you feel different or not enough, I just hope you could understand how much I can relate to that … but if your strength becomes stronger than your doubts, it can be forever change how you see yourself.

‘NEVER stop going after what you want. I just knew that this stupid situation #alopecia could no longer let life suck out of me.

“So if you’ve lost all your hair with me, I’m here for us … because no one, no circumstance, no state of health, CANNOT define your beauty for you – it all starts from within. Never forget that.’

Kathy Jacobs

At the age of 56, Kathy Jacobs from Calabasas, California is not the oldest model of the magazine – that honor goes to icon Christie Brinkley, who last posed for SI Swim at the age of 63.

But Kathy is certainly older than the average swimsuit stunner and was the first to walk the catwalk for the magazine.

“I participated in the SI Swimsuit Model Search and flew to Miami twice,” she said. “The first time I didn’t make it to the first round. But I didn’t give up! I felt a burning desire to try again and be part of a change in the way society views women over 50. “

The old model and the actress said ageism “affects us all,” but she wants this to stop once and for all.

“I do this to be part of a change in views about women over 50, not only by society, but also by ourselves. It is a boomerang effect and we as women over 50 must stand together and realize how amazing, relevant, beautiful and sexy we are all.
