A mom has revealed a little-known McDonald’s deal she discovered, but some were “shocked” by her order after she made controversial changes to the burgers.

The woman, from Victoria, shared a photo of her $5 meal on social media after she scored a Big Mac, a Cheeseburger, small fries and a small Coke, worth $14.45.

The coupon says a $9.45 discount after she ordered the $5 bundle deal through Macca’s app.

“Not bad – all this for $5. We fed the four of us for just $20. The deal is for one person per person,” she wrote in a Facebook group.

But upon closer inspection of the receipt of her epic meal deal, some were upset by the mother removing pickles from her Big Mac and Cheeseburger.

But on closer inspection of the receipt of her epic meal deal, some were “shocked” by the mother for removing pickles from her Big Mac and Cheeseburger.

“This is horrible – what kind of person doesn’t eat pickles?” wrote a woman.

And it wasn’t just the pickles that she removed. The restaurant has made a few other changes to the classic Cheeseburger – “no mustard,” “no ketchup,” “no regular onions,” and “no salt and pepper seasoning.”

“Wow that Cheeseburger sounds dry,” another woman suggested.

However, the mother explained that she had made the changes for her two young sons — ages 12 and 15 — who don’t like pickles in their burgers.

“My 15-year-old son has his Big Mac with only meat, cheese and lettuce and cheeseburger – just meat and cheese. My other son, 12, doesn’t have pickles on the Big Mac and Cheeseburger—meat, cheese, and ketchup,” she said.

Many moms were quick to respond to her thread, saying that their kids “hate pickles” too, while some adults confessed that they always get it out of their burgers.

“As an ex-Maccas worker and fellow fusspot, I don’t know why they don’t just push the button for just meat, cheese, and ketchup. It’s so good to see someone have their burger the same as mine…without pickles,” a former employee wrote.

While another added: ‘My son is 10 and he refuses all pickles and all sauces, but eats whole tomatoes and cucumbers, even kiwis with skin on them.’

Others shared their own orders, including one woman who said, ‘I’m a vegetarian and will ask for cheeseburger without the meat patty and extra pickles. I love pickles.’

Despite the entertaining pickle debate, others said they were excited to get their hands on the rare McDonald’s deal.

“Wonderful, especially now that so many of us are in lockdown and need a little treat to pick us up. I bet you all really enjoyed it too, I would have. Thanks for sharing the bargain for those of us who didn’t know,” one said.
