McDonald’s has come under fire for its ‘disappointing’ Caramilk McFlurry, just a day after the fast food chain launched its highly anticipated dessert in Australia.

The Cadbury Caramilk McFlurry, with a vanilla soft serve topped with caramel chocolate flakes and sauce, has been added to menus in all restaurants.

But after weeks of hype, dozens of disgruntled customers particularly objected to the “tasteless” ice cream, with many claiming they were only getting a regular soft serve ice cream with shaved caramel on top.

“I was so excited about this but was so disappointed it’s basically soft serve, couldn’t find the sauce, the chocolate on top was ok but needed so much more of it,” a customer wrote in the Caramilk Addicts Club Facebook -group.

Another diner claimed ‘It was s***, disappointing and pathetic…not worth buying’, while one said ‘I can hardly taste the Caramilk. As an addict, the ratio of ice cream to caramel isn’t right at all.’

One added: “I raced excitedly to Maccas for my McFlurry. I was happy to let my lactose intolerant tummy suffer for that Caramilk goodness… I’m disappointed – it was a waste of $4.’

While another said: ‘Bought the Caramilk McFlurry and it was s***. Just ice cream with a little grated over the top. So damn disappointing.’

However, those who tried the creation said they enjoyed the new McFlurry flavor.

‘I had one and it tasted wonderful! Mine did have a bit of caramel sauce and caramel flakes on it,” one man said.

One woman added, “Loved mine…Will definitely buy more,” while another wrote, “I really enjoyed it.”

The launch comes just weeks after a ‘leak’ photo of never-before-seen Caramilk McFlurry sent chocolate fans into a meltdown.

Earlier this week, McDonald’s confirmed that the dessert will be in stores for a limited time only.

“It’s here, it’s Cadbury Caramilk McFlurry and it’s only available while supplies last,” said Liz Whitbread, senior brand manager at McDonald’s Australia.

“Caramilk is a phenomenon adored by chocolate fans across the country. The unique, delicious caramelized white chocolate is truly in a class of its own.

“We’re so excited to introduce the Caramilk McFlurry and give Aussie Macca fans the dessert they’ve been dreaming of.”

Ahead of the launch, a flyer began circulating on Facebook and Instagram claiming that the Caramilk McFlurry would go on sale between October 13 and November 16.

Many said they refused to pin their hopes in case the dessert was fake.

However, Nick confidently replied, “I can confirm that it is 1000000 percent true. They’re throwing a private launch party for it.’
