McDonald’s announces major overhaul of the Happy Meal – and slashes the price in time for the Easter holiday

McDonald’s UK offers families a Happy Meal for just £1.99 from March 28 to April 14 – perfect for the Easter holidays.

The restaurant collaborates with multiplayer card game Uno, for this limited edition meal featuring characters from several DreamWorks Animation franchises.

The Happy Meal, reduced by 40 percent, will be available at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.

To get your hands on it, all you have to do is download the McDonald’s app and go to the offers section.

The family game features six card packs, including the classic Uno card pack and five card packs with designs featuring well-known characters from the DreamWorks films of Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar, Trolls and Megamind.

Assigned randomly, this means you could wander into a store and end up carrying either a Happy Meal with the standard UNO card deck, or one with your favorite movie characters.

However, if you’re looking for a particular character, McDonald’s urges customers to politely ask if it’s available.

And families looking for a book instead of a toy can opt for one of two Little People Big Dreams books: I Can Be an Astronaut or I Can Be a Brave Adventurer.

As usual, the Happy Meal contains a choice of Fish Fingers, Chicken McNuggets or Veggie Dippers with a bag of Apples and Grapes or a bag of Carrots, plus drink options including water, milk or fruit shoots.

This comes after the brand revealed plans to bring a limited-edition happy meal for adults to America.

Consumers can choose between a Big Mac meal for adults and a 10-piece McNugget meal with fries and soft drink of their choice.

McDonald’s teamed up with New York native Kerwin Frost, an artist and street style influencer, in December to create the Kerwin Frost Box and all-new 1990s-inspired McNugget Buddies.

There were a total of six McNugget Buddies: Kerwin Frost, Uptown Moe, Waffutu, BRRRICK, Darla and Don Bernice.

The Kerwin Frost Box was available for a limited time at participating McDonald’s restaurants in the United States and select McDonald’s restaurants worldwide, and debuted on December 11.

All dolls featured in the Kerwin Frost Box are members of the Frost Way, where “everyone is invited to be exactly who they are.”

Each doll wears an outfit inspired by Kerwin’s childhood and her belief that “everyone should feel free to express themselves.”

They also have individual names and personalities that make each toy stand out in its own way.
