Queen Máxima of the Netherlands was in high spirits today as she enjoyed another day at the Paris Olympics, cheering the Dutch team to victory in the women’s handball.
The Dutch royal was once again accompanied by her family as she celebrated the Netherlands’ victory from the sidelines with her husband King Willem-Alexander and two of their three children, Princess Catherine Amalia and Princess Alexia, in Paris on Tuesday.
The 53-year-old European champion could not help but smile after the Dutch team claimed victory against Spain in the women’s handball, with the Dutch team winning by five points over their rivals.
Maxima was pictured raising her arms in the air as she celebrated a win for her home country, grinning from ear to ear and holding her Netherlands national team cap aloft.
The Queen opted for a sun-protecting white top and trousers for the handball match, and completed the summery look with an indigo blue blazer and a cream handbag.

Maxima is pictured alongside her eldest daughter Princess Catherine Amalia and her husband Willem-Alexander as they watched the women’s handball match on the fourth day of the games in Paris. Each member of the family wore at least one item of clothing in the team’s orange colours.
Her shoulder-length golden hair was worn loose at the sides, perfectly framing her radiant smile and subtle silver earrings.
The royal sported her usual makeup look, showing off her radiant skin with a natural foundation and subtle eyeshadow to emphasize her stunning features.
The rest of the family opted for the colours of the Dutch team: Willem-Alexander wore an orange polo shirt and a sun cap.
Each member of the family wore at least one item of clothing in the Dutch team colour, orange.
Of the two Dutch sisters, Princess Catharina-Amalia, 20, looked the most enthusiastic in a matching orange button-down shirt, her mother-inherited blonde locks falling over her face.
Catharina-Amalia seemed much more enthusiastic about the match than her younger sister Alexia, who remained seated for much of the game while the rest of her family stood eagerly to watch the thrilling match.
Her youngest daughter, Princess Ariadne, 17, does not appear to have accepted the engagement.
Watching handball marked another day of Olympics for the Dutch royal family, who enjoyed a number of sports, including swimming on Sunday.
As the family enjoyed watching Team Netherlands compete in swimming on Sunday, footage captured a storm-faced Maxima appearing to shoot a dagger at her middle daughter Alexia, who was chewing gum during the appearance.
During the match, as Alexia was visibly chewing gum, with a picture showing her mouth open and a white wedge on her tongue, the eagle-eyed queen gave her daughter a glare.

The Queen lifted her Dutch national team cap to cheer on her home team. Her daughter, Catharina-Amalia (middle), looked overjoyed as she clapped and cheered. Meanwhile, middle daughter Alexia applauded from her seat.
As the four watched the Netherlands team compete in swimming, the footage couldn’t help but capture the stormy expression on the Queen’s face as she looked at her middle daughter, Alexia, who was chewing gum.
During the match, as Alexia was visibly chewing gum, with a picture showing her mouth open and a white wedge on her tongue, the eagle-eyed queen gave her daughter a glare.
Today’s tense match in Paris started at midday and will leave the Dutch team one step closer to being among the top two places in Group B in handball, after securing a victory following an unfortunate start to the game.
The Dutch team’s 29:24 victory comes just two days after the women’s handball team lost to France.
Their swimming appearance is not the only event that Dutch royals have attended.
Queen Máxima and her husband King Willem-Alexander, 57, watched their country compete in the mountain bike cross-country final on Sunday.
The royal couple were accompanied by their daughters Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange, 20, and Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, 19.
Dutch runner Pieterse Puck came in fourth with a time of 1:29:25, losing by just a few minutes to the United States, Sweden and France, who took gold with Ferrand Prevot Pauline.
Watching from the sidelines, Máxima wore a stunning floral dress to complement the generously bright and sunny weather.
