- Max Gawn has named the AFL’s most handsome player
- The Melbourne star made his confession on Triple M
- He also provided insight into the rise of Harley Reid.
Max Gawn has revealed one AFL player in particular is easy on the eyes as he explains his reasoning for his top five stars in the league.
Melbourne captain Gawn joined Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show to discuss his team’s shock loss to West Coast, where he had a front row seat to Harley Reid’s show.
Reid scored a sensational goal in which he carried the ball from center field to the forward 50 before scoring, although Gawn was nowhere near the youngster when that magical moment unfolded.
He said: “I was on the bench for ‘the’ goal. I saw the message not to argue about Clayton and Christian, and I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll take him,’ but yeah, no.
“It’s pretty unique to be able to play center rebound in the middle of your freshman year. None of our guys have really had that opportunity. It’ll only help him playing against Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in his freshman year, in his ninth game.
Max Gawn has revealed who is the most handsome player in the AFL
Gawn said Harley Reid is real and will have a sensational career
‘I’m glad to be on the other side of the fence, calling most of his career. “It’s going to be good.”
Gawn went on to rank the players he most likes to watch play, and one of his top five earned his spot for non-football-related reasons.
“Number five is Jack Silvagni, because he’s the best-looking guy in the AFL,” Gawn admitted.
“I love seeing the most handsome boy in the AFL, with the most handsome father (Steven Silvagni) in the stands.
‘Number four is Joe Daniher, simply because he lives three hours away from training in Byron Bay, has no television and accepts disputed scores for fun. As I understand it, he has an apartment in Brisbane, but lives in a different state to the club.
He rated Carlton’s Jack Silvagni as the most attractive player in the competition.
Young Reid was also named among the five.
‘Number three is Harley Reid; he arrived there very early. He’s my midfielder of the five.”
‘Charlie Curnow (is number) two. He’s not as good as last year, last year he was amazing, this year he’ll make it. He knows he’s one of my favorites, I tell him.
‘(No one) is close to my number one. Number one is Levi Casboult. A handsome and brutal man. His job is to go out and take disputed notes and that’s all his job. He just goes out and does it. He is my age, my year; I’m just talking about Levi Casboult. (laughs)’
