Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller was reportedly “romantically involved” with Matthew Perry nearly two decades ago.
The claim comes amid reports that the actress, 46, has been questioned by authorities over the late Friends star’s fatal overdose.
Allegations surfaced this week that Mueller was interviewed “multiple times” by Los Angeles police in connection with Perry’s death last year from “acute effects of ketamine.”

Now, Perry’s ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards has alleged that she and Mueller dated him simultaneously after the three met in Alcoholics Anonymous.

“Brooke dated Matthew in 2006, around the time I started dating Matthew,” Edwards, 48, said. The US Sun — and added that he believes Perry and Mueller may have “reconnected” in their later years.
“They definitely didn’t meet each other initially in rehab, we all met at AA in 2006,” said Edwards, who later worked as Perry’s assistant in 2010 and 2011.
“She and I were seeing him at the same time, there was no dating relationship, we were just dating,” he continued.
‘He would take me on dates and he would take her on dates. It was like, “Are you going out with Brooke tonight?” There was back and forth between her and I, but they were definitely romantically involved.
She described Mueller as “my rival,” adding: “I knew about her and I’m sure she knew about me.” “We were hanging out with Matthew, hanging out with him and it wasn’t really a big deal.”
Edwards, Julie Andrews’ step-granddaughter, recalled: “It was probably a three-month thing because that’s what he and I were. Him, Brooke and I, and he would never go out in public and be romantic, he was always at his house.
Later in 2006, Mueller met Charlie Sheen, whom she became engaged to the following year and eventually married in 2008.
“In 2010, when I started working for Matthew, I even asked him about her and if he was still talking to Brooke and what he thought about her being with Charlie,” Edwards said. ‘She said she wasn’t surprised because that’s who she was. She wanted to date an actor with money, so she wasn’t surprised.
Edwards added: “That’s what she wanted, that lifestyle of being married and having children with an actor, and I don’t think Matthew would ever give her that.”

Edwards explained: “She was sober when she was dating Matthew in 2006 because he was sober at the time. It’s possible that after Charlie she went off the rails and they reconnected in rehab. I guess I never asked, but if they were dating I’m pretty sure she would have said, ‘Guess who I ran into? ‘”
The claims came after it emerged that authorities questioned Mueller about Perry, who was found dead in his hot tub last October.
‘She has hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with authorities since they arrived at her sober living home with a search warrant. She is keeping her lips sealed about the situation,’ a source explained.
This development follows a separate report that said investigators could charge “several people” in connection with the actor’s death. DailyMail.com has contacted Mueller for comment on this story.
“It’s hard to say or know exactly what her role was (in Matthew’s death), but she insists she had nothing to do with it.”
Mueller has had several substance abuse issues over the years. In July 2011, he checked into a rehab program. Two years later, his children were removed from his home for suspected drug use. Mueller re-entered rehab at that time.
Mueller, 46, was married to Sheen from 2008 to 2011 and the couple have three children together.

Her last public rehab stint occurred in August 2019. From 2008 to 2011, Mueller was married to actor Charlie Sheen. The couple has twin sons, Bob and Max. Their divorce came amid allegations of domestic abuse by Sheen.
Perry’s death in October 2023 at the age of 54 shocked the world. The beloved Friends star was found unresponsive in the hot tub of her Los Angeles home. An autopsy attributed her death to the “acute effects of ketamine.”
The amount of ketamine in his blood was within the range used for general anesthesia during surgery. It was listed as the primary cause of death, which was determined to be an accident with no suspicion of foul play, according to the report.
People close to the actor told coroners he was receiving ketamine infusion therapy. The decades-old surgical drug has seen a surge in use in recent years as a treatment for depression, anxiety and pain.
According to the InTouch report, investigators in the case confiscated a laptop and an iPhone from Mueller.
A source confirmed to InTouch that Mueller and Perry met during rehab. “They formed an unexpected friendship,” the friend said.
Perry said in 2022 that he estimated he spent $9 million battling his addictions over 15 rehab stays.
In a report of People Published Tuesday, a law enforcement investigative source said the investigation is now “nearing its conclusion.”

Mueller has spent multiple stints in rehab, most recently in 2019.
The source did not clarify who the “multiple individuals” potentially facing charges are, adding that any future action will ultimately be determined by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
However, in December of last year, a medical expert speculated to Page Six that the actor had “likely” obtained ketamine illegally for “recreational use.”
Although Perry was receiving ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his death, his autopsy report noted that “the ketamine in his system at the time of death could not have come from that infusion therapy.”
Working with the DEA and the United States Postal Inspector, the Los Angeles Police Department began investigating where the ketamine that “ended up playing a role” in the actor’s death came from.
At the time, TMZ reported that an ongoing investigation was seeking to deduce where the actor, who spent years battling alcoholism and drug addiction, obtained the ketamine.
“Law enforcement sources tell us there is an ongoing investigation into where Matthew obtained the ketamine that ultimately played a role in his death, with the main questions being who provided the drug and under what circumstances,” the outlet reported.
Sources also told the outlet that “both local police and the DEA have been investigating this matter for months, but it is unclear where exactly investigators are in the investigation.”
It was also revealed that they had already spoken to “some key people in Hollywood,” who “are known to have a history of drug use or abuse,” as they “could have information leading to the source,” according to the report.
A year before his death, he spoke about his struggle with addiction and detailed his journey toward sobriety in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.
In the revealing report released in 2022, he claimed he was finally sober after multiple failed attempts to detox and at a personal cost of $9 million.
Sources later told DailyMail.com that the “reclusive” star had younger contacts from dating app Raya deliver drugs to her home even while she was under the 24/7 care of a nursing team.
Despite having a nursing staff in his $6 million Pacific Palisades home, as well as a sober partner living there, Perry managed to have chance encounters that introduced illicit drugs to him undetected, sources explained in December 2023.
“He met girls on dating apps and invited them to come,” insiders claimed.
‘There were a lot of young people aged between 21 and 25 that I would meet in Raya. They would bring drugs with them. It was mainly Oxycontin (a powerful opioid pain reliever). He also got illicit drugs from old girlfriends, there was some kind of network,” a source said.
The source added: ‘I think with (his memoir), Matthew thought it would help him get to the place he was describing.
“I was writing about what I expected the situation to be like I was already there. I was writing the script I wanted.”
