The production is underway on Matt Damon and Adam Driver’s new movie The Last Duel, where both actors rock unique historical costumes.
Damon, 49, and Driver, 36, were both spotted on the set in Sarlat, France on Tuesday, with director Ridley Scott.
The film also marks Damon’s return to writing, co-writing the script with his childhood friend Ben Affleck and Nicole Holofcener (enough said).

The Boston resident was seen by the set and chatted with other crew members.
Driver was leaned on a set in an Audi, wore a navy blue shirt with his hair almost shoulder length and wore a mustache and goatee.
Damon’s co-writer and co-star Ben Affleck was not seen on the set and it remains unclear when he will start filming.

The film is based on the true story of the last sanctioned duel in France, which took place in the 14th century and adapted from the book The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager.
The story follows the Norman knight Jean de Carrouges (Damon), who, after returning home from the war, accuses his best friend and squire Jacques Le Gris (director) of raping his wife (Jodie Comer).
After no one believed the woman’s accusations and preferred a court ruling to LeGris, the Carrouges appeals to the king of France, who condemns them to fight to death in a duel.
Costume: Damon wore a mullook with a chin strap beard, a thick brown leather tunic and a brown cloak over it.
The winner, according to the king’s decision, would triumph as a sign of God’s will, and if the Carrouges lose, his wife would also be burned at the stake for making the false accusation.
While talking about the film during a Conan performance in November, Matt said: “It’s about the last sanctioned duel in medieval France between these two knights, the other of whom claimed that the other had raped his wife.
“They couldn’t resolve what had happened, so they fought to the death to let God decide who spoke the truth.
“We thought it was this interesting story of perspectives, so Ben and I wrote the masculine perspectives, and Nicole wrote the feminine perspectives, and Ridley Scott is going to direct it.”
Co-star: Matt wrote the screenplay with Nicole Holofcener and long-standing writing partner Ben Affleck (shown after their Oscar victory in 1998 for the screenplay of Good Will Hunting)
Originally, Matt and Ben were ready to play the two leading roles in the film, but they ran into planning conflicts because of Ben Ly’s role in Deep Water by Adrian Lyne.
As such, Adam was cast to take over the role after his incredible year of filming in 2019 with releases such as Marriage Story, for which he was Oscar-nominated, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker and The Report.
Damon is from his hit film Ford vs. Ferrari, in which he played alongside Christian Bale, who was nominated for Best Picture.
Damon will then be seen in Stillwater, alongside Abigail Breslin, which is scheduled for release on November 6.
He also produces Witness For the Prosecution, an adaptation of Agatha Christie that Affleck is expected to direct.
The Last Duel is currently scheduled in theaters with a limited release on Christmas Day, before being nationally expanded on January 8, 2021.
