Martha Stewart has reportedly angered Netflix after criticizing Martha, the streaming service’s documentary about her life.
The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and the 83-year-old domestic goddess flew to and from the Rocky Mountain town via Netflix’s private jet.

At a post-premiere event, Martha called the documentary “lazy” and “not the story that makes me me.”
His problem stems from the fact that the documentary places, in his opinion, too much emphasis on his trial and subsequent imprisonment for insider trading in 2004.

Stewart reportedly said that RJ Cutler, the film’s director, “refused to change anything” while attending the 2024 Retail Influencer CEO Forum.
“I try not to talk publicly about things I don’t like, because it’s not good business,” she said during an onstage conversation with Joanna Coles, the Daily Beast’s creative and content director.
He then added, referring to his doctor: “I can speak a little badly of that,” adding: “It’s more about my stupid judgment, which was so unfair.”
“I had a collaboration agreement,” Martha said, but Cutler “didn’t want to change anything” when she objected to the second half of the film covering their legal battle.
In the end, Cutler did the final edit, Martha is not happy with the movie and that apparently doesn’t sit well with Netflix because they flew her to Colorado on their private jet.
And he was disheartened that the film also included an interview with former Manhattan prosecutor and FBI director James Comey.
‘(Cutler) has a picture of Comey (in the documentary),’ he continued, ‘and Comey says, “Oh, she’s going to jail because she lied, not because she committed a crime,” some nonsense.
‘And below (it doesn’t say): “Comey was fired for lying.”

Comey was fired by Donald Trump in 2017 following widespread criticism of his handling of Hillary Clinton’s email and investigations into Russian election interference.
“As a documentarian, I would include that,” Stewart continued, “that’s the lazy part.”
But the Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party star may have the final say after all. “Netflix already asked me if I would do another one,” she said.
Martha debuts on Netflix on October 30.
