Married at First Sight stars Dominica Calarco and Ella Ding reveal why their season was so much better than the 2023 series – and what producers must do to save the show
Dominica Calarco and Ella Ding have some thoughts on the 2023 season of Married At First Sight.
The former reality stars, who appeared on the show in 2022, say their series did better because the contestants were on lockdown.
Filmed in 2021, season nine has been in production during the Covid pandemic lockdowns, and the pair believe the producers can salvage future seasons by keeping the contestants isolated.
Our season was very good because we were actually on lockdown. Our rules were much stricter. Ella said: We had security guards at our door Hey ho.
She added, “Mavs, they need to be on lockdown, and the storylines to stay.”

Dominica agreed, “It sounds crazy when you’re in it, but look how it makes for good TV.”
Ella suggested that the show take a break from being on the air to “refresh” and Dominica was in agreement with it.
“If they come back next year, I’d like to see them live in different places and only get together at dinner parties,” said Dominica.
It comes after season 10’s The Bride Lyndall Grace was called out by Dom for trying to unfairly win the sympathy of her co-stars.
The 28-year-old revealed on her Sit With Us podcast that Lyndall’s behavior on MAFS is what she and she believes is dishonest.

I see Lyndall playing the victim. Like, “Oh, he didn’t want to hug me.” B**ch, go get the King’s pillow,’ I meant.
Lyndall ** me and I don’t know why. She added, “I just don’t trust her.”
Dominica went on to say that Bronte Scofield, 28, was also guilty of the same behaviour.
Co-host Ella, 28, said the actions of the cast on this year’s season of MAFS kept her from enjoying the show.
I just don’t take the whole cast seriously. I literally can’t watch this year’s MAFS season.
